JOHN MELTON
Pianist
About
John began piano lessons at age six, though he wanted to start earlier, however, his parents thought he should be able to read first. He soon realized he wanted to learn to play music he heard on the radio and television, which ultimately led him to multiple categories of popular music.
Since then, he has performed in a rock band, country band, orchestra pit for musicals and variety shows, private parties, dances, and toured with a USO troupe.
Audiences love the variety of programs John performs, featuring his own unique arrangements of all genres of popular music. His programs highlight music from various decades, and include ballads, swing, rock, country, Latin, ragtime, boogie-woogie and more, all performed with the intent of entertaining his audiences.
A popular feature of John’s concerts is how he interacts with the audience, as he provides a brief background of each piece he performs. He often includes a “Name That Song” contest in his performances.
Active in the music industry, John served for several years as president of the Board of Directors of The Loveland Orchestra in his hometown of Loveland, CO. He currently serves as community liason for the orchestra.
